Reliability improvement built around real manufacturing constraints.
MaintainIQ was created to help manufacturing sites that know their maintenance system needs attention, but cannot justify a full-time reliability engineer or a large consultancy engagement.
Founder-led, hands-on
MaintainIQ is led by Stuart Dutton, drawing on more than 20 years of hands-on engineering and reliability leadership across RAF, defence, FMCG, and industrial manufacturing environments.
Stuart’s RAF background matters because reliability was not an abstract improvement project. It was tied to operational readiness, disciplined engineering standards, clear documentation, and maintenance systems that had to work under real pressure.
That experience now shapes how MaintainIQ works with manufacturing sites: peer-level conversations with Engineering Managers, Maintenance Managers and Operations Directors; defined-scope delivery; data-led diagnosis; and outputs that can actually be used, not just presented.
Veteran owned · UK basedReliability, not consultancy theatre.
MaintainIQ is built around the idea that good maintenance systems should reflect how the plant actually runs, not how a template says it should run.
- RAF engineering discipline. Maintenance logic, records, and readiness have to stand up to scrutiny.
- Manufacturing pragmatism. Recommendations must fit production pressure, shift patterns, audit demands, and limited engineering capacity.
- Data-led diagnosis. The CMMS data is the starting point — even when it is messy.
- Outputs that can be used. Tasks, frequencies, hierarchies, and procedures formatted for direct CMMS use.
- Honest scoping. If a programme is not justified, we will say so.
Definition by contrast.
A generic management consultancy
We do not produce strategy decks without the CMMS-ready outputs to back them up.
A software startup
We work inside the CMMS you already have. We are not selling you a new platform.
A day-rate contractor pool
Engagements are scoped from evidence and delivered around agreed outputs, not open-ended support.
